Last June 25, I attended the awarding ceremony for the “Where have You Been in the Philippines” photo contest.
They only allow 2 photos to submit for each photographer. I was blessed because both my photos was given a special award.
The awards were the “Best Beach Photo” and the “Best Festival Photo”. The best festival photo also landed as one of the Top 40 photos that is now being displayed at the R.O.X. Philippines outlet in Bonifacio High Street at the Fort Bonifacio Global City. Here are some of the photos I took during the event.

Lino Almuenda of Technical Operations Division (TOD) bested the 12 photo essays as his entry landed first place in the Valuing Values Photo Contest, perfectly capturing random acts of proactivity that reflect excellence and teamwork from the ‘Kapamilya Shower Na’ project of DZMM and ABS-CBN Foundation.
His work consisted of eight images showing the project’s success of providing a refreshing spell of cleanliness to Typhoon Ondoy evacuees. Almuenda’s photo essay conveys how a simple gesture of kindness paved the way in bringing people together and work as one.

Prizes of the winners will be given during the WOW Awards- DSLR Canon 500D for the first place, Ipod Touch 32GB for the second place and, Canon Selphy photo printer for the third place.
The judging of the photos took place last February. Employees from three different departments assessed the entries: Raul Echivarre (Logistics), Alex Agcaoili (TOD) and Bubuy Balangue (Studio 23).

Here’s the entire entry that I submitted…
This is a photo essay of DZMM’s project “Kapamilya Shower Na” in cooperation with ABS-CBN Foundation. This project aims to provide the evacuees of the typhoon Ondoy with one of the basic needs in proper hygiene, a refreshing shower. Giving them a bath kit consisting of shampoo, soap, deodorant, slippers and towel. Here, ABS-CBN’s mission “In The Service of the Filipino Worldwide” is personified with an emphasis on excellence and teamwork.

Bata: maliligo ba ko? Baka malamig ang tubig…

Bata: Tay, sa tingin ko kailangan ko na pong maligo…

Radyo Patrol Reporter Jon : Kamusta naman ang pakiramdam pagkatapos makaligo?
