St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York…

St. Patrick’s Cathedral

is a decorated Neo-Gothic-style Catholic cathedral church in New York.

going to the altar

It is the seat of the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, and a parish church, located on the east side of Fifth Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets in midtown Manhattan.

the ceiling

The cathedral is built of white or tan marble quarried in New York and Massachusetts and can accommodate 2,200 people.

the view from the back

The windows were made by artists in Chartres, Birmingham and Boston. The great rose window is one of Charles Connick‘s major works.

the door

The cathedral and associated buildings were declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976.

  1. Wow, the architecture is grand and impressive! I loved all your photos but I especially loved the last one. very nice angle that captures some fine details of the massive doors.

  3. Love your pics talaga. Ang sisi ko lang ngayon at hindi ako nakapasok diyan. Dumaan lang kami huhuhu! Hirap daw kasi mag-park sa NY at mahal ang parking fee.
